Energy Tetralemma Index Study
SQW Energy was commissioned to develop a complex, aggregate index (the Energy Tetralemma Index) to be used as a strategic energy planning tool for the comparison of ten energy sources that are relevant to Ireland.
Scottish Minister’s Wave and Tidal Support (WATES) Scheme
SQW Energy was appointed to develop, design and implement a short term market support scheme that would incentivise the development of marine energy projects in Scotland through the award of capital grants and revenue support.
Market Analysis, Design and Implementation of the Marine Supply Obligation (MSO)
SQW Energy was commissioned to provide a long term market support mechanism and perform analysis of options for marine energy in Scotland that could operate within the existing Renewables Obligation (Scotland).
Saltire Prize
SQW Energy delivered the initial scope and format of the Saltire Prize, a £10m prize to promote future innovation and technological endeavour in the marine energy sector. SQW Energy was then responsible for providing immediate analysis and decisions on the most effective solutions, and a set of actions to take the project forward.
Section 185
SQW Energy was commissioned by the DTi to explore the impact of a cap on grid charging in the north of Scotland (under Section 185 of the Energy Act) on UK renewables development.
