MDM has a wealth of experience in all aspects of marine engineering having successfully completed major marine projects and pipeline and cable crossings of the Irish Sea. They provide the consortium with specialist offshore construction advice across the spectrum of civil engineering.
With extensive knowledge of Ireland/UK seabed conditions and landfall requirements, MDM have the capacity to offer the consortium construction solutions for the bespoke needs of offshore grid design.
MDM provide specific competencies and experience drawn from previous projects including:
Interconnector 1 Gas Project
MDM was responsible for the planning, design and management of the Interconnector 1 which involved a 205km sub-sea pipeline, a 10km onshore pipeline in north Dublin and 70km of Onshore Pipeline in Scotland together with a major Compressor Station and Pressure Reduction Stations in Scotland and Ireland respectively.
Ireland – Wales Gas Pipeline
MDM undertook the planning and preliminary engineering of this natural gas pipeline which included a 24km pipeline in North Dublin, 161km of sub-sea pipeline and a 61km pipeline from Abergale to an off-take at Eccleston Ferry.
Providence Resources plc
This feasibility study and Preliminary Engineering Design for a multiphase-flow pipeline from the Helvic and Ardmore fields to Whitegate Refinery including inshore pipeline study, landfall selection, and onshore pipeline routing.
CER – East-West Electrical Interconnector
As a member of the KPMG consortium for this study, MDM was involved in the evaluation of possible grid connection points, selection of route and system options (including general route feasibility) and recommendations on a preferred route.
